Two F-7 Fighter Jets Crash In Myanmar

Two F-7 fighter jets from Myanmar Air Force crashed in separate incidents during training flights in Magwe Region on 15th October, killing three people, including a young girl in her home, the office of the Commander-in-Chief for Defense Services said in a statement.
The casualties include the two pilots of the Chinese-made aircraft and a 10-year-old girl who was hit by debris as she was at her home, preparing to start for her school.
One of the jets crashed in Minbu town and another crashed in a paddy field near Thana pin village in Minbu Township.
Financial assistance totaling K2.4 million (US$1500) was handed over to the family of the girl by the Central Region Military Headquarters, Magwe Security and Border Affairs Minister Colonel Min Oo and the regional government. Friends, teachers, Tatmadaw (military) officials and locals attended the funeral of the girl on Tuesday afternoon in Minbu.
An F-7 fighter crashed in April this year killing the pilot. The F-7 is a Cold War-era Chinese-variant of the Soviet Union’s MiG-21.
